Sport has enormous potential as a tool to promote gender equality. However, it can also be a space where unequal relationships and various forms of gender-based violence are perpetuated. In this webinar, we will reflect on the dual role of sport: as an arena rife with challenges, but also as an engine for social transformation.
\nBased on the experience of F\u00fatbol M\u00e1s, Marta Mena Avalos, <\/strong>a trained social worker from University of Pablo de Olavide, Seville, who works with children and young people from disadvantaged contexts or at risk of exclusion since 2018) and Anna Donovan, who has a degree in International Relations and Development and has worked on youth inclusion projects that promote gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls through sport, explore how to use sport to promote more egalitarian relationships, foster safe environments and build good practices that favor inclusion and respect. In addition, they \u00a0analyze the main challenges that arise in this path and share strategies to address them from a practical and contextualized approach.
\nThis space seeks to inspire professionals, educators and agents of change to harness the power of sport as a platform to move towards a more just and egalitarian society.<\/p>\n
